He He got his C-licence in may 1984 and he passed the first time, which was not a big problem seen as he had done a technical school just before that. The callsign that he got was PE1KHP. He had joined the VERON. The biggest radio ham association in the Netherlands.

The station was build up of one set, a 11 meter rig build to 10 meters with behind that a transverse to 144 MHz. But this thing sends on different frequencies on two meter. So that it had to re-setup. Soon after that I bought a FT290r. Behind that there was a QQe06/40. This was necessary to work with a power of 80 watt, and make dx QSO's on two meter. You can also see a old telex machine, that was used for RTTY transmittings on two meter band.
In January of 1990 he was asked to write a monthly paper in the ELECTRON about the radio traffic on the two meter. He also joined the VHF-commissie (VHF commission) of the VERON. This was he doing for 14 years. Then he stopt. But does send in small things for the magazine about DXing on HF and about software. Like Logger32, the logbook that he use.

And now you can take a look at his old shack (2000): you will see the Kenwood TM255e, this set he used to use for all his DX work on the VHF 2 meter band. This set has a power of 50 Watt, and was sold to Jacco PE1RNA. He has already made his first dx with it. And use it with a transverter for 6 meter band too. But Jacco too has naw a TS2000 transceiver. This is one of the best rigs for 6 meter DX-ing

PE2K is a lot active on 6 meter. For this band he made a dipole and it's hanging in the attic of the house. He made this himself on an evening. It was very simple and is hanging from the ridge of the attic. If you look at the beam from down below, you can see two pipes. Witch has isolation made of roll of film holders. That was lying nearby and it has been very useful. And it did a great yob.

It still surprises him that you can work such nice things on that band with such a simple antenna. But the openings have to be there as well. But if they are there than you easily work some 43 country's in one summer. And lots more sections, this summer he reached the total of 329 locators.
Furthermore you can see some measuring equipment, a frequency counter and multimeters etc. There is also a solder space, not that there is a lot of building going on but you can't go with out!
For the Internet there is a pc, a Windows VISTA software. A monster. But for this goal
you don't need a high-speed monster. Lots of amateur programmes he has already tried and
some off them he still use daily. And some he have dropped a way. Logger32 is naw his logbook
programme.
The antenna formation was simple but enough to work dx. A combi-antenna for 2 meter
and 70 cm that is the round beamer on top of the tower. Beneath there is a 6 elements Quad
from Jay-beam, in use for twometer band. The system is removed. He is not longer active on VHF band. Only on 6 meter and the HF bands
160 meter to 10 meter. He use for HF a dipole antenna, mostly for QSO's on 18/20 meter band.
For 10/12 meter he use the PKW Bazooka 1 meter 80 at 3 meter. Standing in the garden. And also
for 40/80 meters, he use the PKW Bazooka. Its not the best DX antenna, but for a very small
antenna, it does a great job. And he did make a lot of DX with this antenna too. Like: 9K43NLD today of this update. You can see more in the QSL section, of his DX QSO's.
And he will send you his QSL card soon after the QSO. He has made 2000 new QSL cards this year,
in full-colour, front an backside. In 2006 he did got his DXCC for 20 meter band (113). And in
2007 he did got more then 159 DXCC on all bands. He is very active with contesting, with
low power. Mostly 5 watt or less. You can send a QSL card by bureau to him. Or by post if you like. See QRZ for al details.
Also for the SWL stations. Do send in your report. You will get a QSL card of PE2K back,
in thanks for your report. He use naw on HF: Yaesu FT1000 MP mark-V with 100 watts. On 6 meter he use the Kenwoond
TS2000, with 100 watts. And you can find him in the most SSB contest. And in de PACC, the big
dutch contest of the year. But also in de world wide DX contest on october in SSB mode. In 2006
he was winning with QRP the all bands SSB QRP section. This award is hanging on the wall in the
shack of him. And you can see it, on the contestpage. See the links next of this. So he hopes to work you soon on the HF bands or on the 6 meter band. If you can work him,
you get a very nice QSL card of him. 100 % is 100 % QSL.
